Catholic Church: Standing on the wrong rock.

[Note :  I have great respect for many of my brothers and sisters who attend Catholic Churches. I believe their trust and relationship with God is real. This is not against them. However, like Christians in every denomination, I do believe very few of them weigh their denomination against the scriptures. Instead they allow someone else to interpret the scriptures for them. This Sin, which Christians of all denominations are guilty of, aids false doctrine and keeps the body split up in so many parts. To know the Truth, you must ask the Spirit to open your eyes and heart, and then you must show no mercy to anything other than the literal interpretation of God’s Word.]

The Roman Catholic Church it says it is built on Peter.

They claim to be the first Church, they claim to be the only entity that can bring people to Jesus. Everyone who, knows about the Catholic Church, and does not get baptized into it goes to hell.

Not all of their teachings are different from the Church prior to 200AD, but their assertion of authority is their great evil. This assertion is based on 1 single verse in the Bible.

Bible Student, and Follower of Jesus, you must always remember that when God wants us to know something He repeats Himself over and over again and in clear language. This false doctrine of theirs, and dozens more, fails this test. Observe.

Here is the single verse they use,

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”. -Matthew 16.18

To be fair, it seems clear that Jesus is building the Church on Peter. However, what the learned elders in the Catholic Church have the obligation and duty to do is to inform others of the meaning in the original language when that language is different from what it appears to be.

Peter is not the head of the Church, Jesus is. There is no such thing as a Pope to God. There is only One Father, and that is our Father in Heaven. Observe.

Jesus said “You are Peter (= Πέτρος Petros. a rock ) and on this Rock (G4073 = πέτρα petra = boulder) I will build my Church”.

Jesus is saying He is the Rock, not Peter. In modern English it may sound like, “You are a small rock, but on me, a big rock, I will build my church.

Peter in his letters, like the Messianic prophecies, calls Jesus the Rock.

Peter quotes the prophecy of the Messiah from Psalms 118:22 (in bold),

“Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,’The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,’
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock (G4073 = Boulder = Jesus) of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: where unto also they were appointed”.      1 Peter 2.7-8

Paul says the Rock is Jesus:
Paul writing of Jesus uses the same word:

“As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock G4073 of offense: and whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” – Romans 9.33

“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock( G4073 = Boulder = Jesus) that followed them: and that Rock G4073 was Christ”        1 Corinthians 10.4

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: G4073″.       Matthew 7.24

There are also dozens of verses throughout the Old Covenant that call the LORD the Rock. God never builds things on men, but on Himself and His Son.

Here is part of David’s long praise to God after being saved from Saul,

2 Samuel 22

Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said:

The LORDis my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;…For who is God, except the LORD?
And who is a rock, except our God?…The LORD lives!
Blessed be my Rock!
Let God be exalted,
The Rock of my salvation!”
Which Rock are you building on?

Leahy is a student of Jesus Christ. Born Again, the Holy Spirit pulls him to and fro doing God's work. In 2009 he had a dream that lasted all night. The dream was a voice saying these words repeatedly. "“The Spirit of the LORD is upon You, Because He has anointed You To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent You to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." This is Luke 4.18, HOWEVER, the "me" in the dream was changed to "You" as if God were speaking to Malaach. This has led to a life of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with many, and seeking to end abortion.
