[ This Article Highlights the relationship that a Christian has with the Spirit of God. It is no way a comprehensive article on everything that makes up a Christian. There are 4 steps to be a Christian at the end of this.]
To the world, a Christian is someone who agrees to certain concepts.
Millions of ‘Church’ goers would agree.
Agreeing with concepts does not make you a Christian.
Listen to what the Word of God says:
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.John 3
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.John 1
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God1st John 5
Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new being…2 Corinthians 5
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new being.Galatians 6
Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.1 Peter 1
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit.Titus 3
But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. – JesusMark 13They told Paul through the Spirit not to go up to Jerusalem. Acts 21
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.Romans 5
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.Romans 8So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. Acts 13
Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing.Acts 11Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”Acts 8While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you.”Acts 10As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”Acts 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches [ literally: ‘the called out ones’. Referring to individuals, not buildings.]Repeated 7 times in Revelation 2&3[God works in confirmation. He repeats what is essential. The number 7 means ‘a whole’. Jesus said to forgive our brothers “seventy times seven”. So with this verse being repeated 7 times in 2 chapters, it appears God is saying, “this is essential, you must understand this”.]
- The music: But in Colossians 3.16 it says to make “spiritual songs”, the word spirit there means ‘from the Holy Spirit’.
- The Bible: The Bible is “God breathed” says Peter. Jesus said His words are Spirit. So again the Spirit is in direct contact with the believer.
“It is the Spirit who gives life…The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”.John 6“He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says…”Revelation 2&3
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.John 14 & 16
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God”2 Timothy 3
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.John 17
He who is Born of God cannot practice Sin1 John 3
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God…Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.1 John 4
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.2 Corinthians 3
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.Romans 8
