What is a Christian? : Our Oneness with The Spirit of Yahweh

[ This Article Highlights the relationship that a Christian has with the Spirit of God. It is no way a comprehensive article on everything that makes up a Christian. There are 4 steps to be a Christian at the end of this.]

To the world, a Christian is someone who agrees to certain concepts.

Millions of ‘Church’ goers would agree.

Agreeing with concepts does not make you a Christian.

Listen to what the Word of God says:

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
                                                                                       John 3
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
                                                                                       John 1
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God
                                                                                   1st John 5
Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new being…
                                                                  2 Corinthians 5
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new being.
                                                                        Galatians 6
Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
                                                                                        1 Peter 1
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
                                                                                           Titus 3
It is clear in Scripture, and it is clear to those of us that have been Born Again, that this is Reality. The New Birth is the threshold, the beginning, the entrance into the Kingdom of God. We become One with The Spirit. Being Born of God is something that changes you instantly, continuously, completely, and extremely.
It is not a Philosophy that you agree with and practice. The Spirit of God is a being. A being who has been written about for 4,000 years by people of every race, continent, age, class, and almost every language.
The Holy Spirit is what led Jesus to & from places. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the Dead. This is from the Oneness He had with the Spirit that dwell within Him.
When we are Born of this Spirit, He affects every part of our being. With our New Nature comes New Instincts. Our likes and dislikes change. How we perceive things is changed.
Our Words are sometimes literally the Words of God, by the Spirit:
But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. – Jesus
                                                                                                 Mark 13
They told Paul through the Spirit not to go up to Jerusalem.                                                                                                                        Acts 21
Jesus said “Love One another as I have loved you”. But how can we love as Christ?
We do it because we are One with God, and His Spirit loves us, and loves through us directly to those we encounter.
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
                                                                                       Romans 5
The Holy Spirit pulls us in The Way that God wants us to go. To understand this next verse entirely, you must know the word ἄγω [a-go]. The word is translated ‘led’ here. The word means to be pulled by the head. The idea is like how people pull a horse by the mask on it’s face. This is how the Spirit guides us instinctualy.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
                                                                                       Romans 8
So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.                                                                                                                                                                  Acts 13
The Holy Spirit speaks directly to us.
Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing.
                                                                                       Acts 11
Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
                                                                                       Acts 8
While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you.”
                                                                                        Acts 10
As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
                                                                                        Acts 13
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches     [ literally: ‘the called out ones’. Referring to individuals, not buildings.]
Repeated 7 times in Revelation 2&3
[God works in confirmation. He repeats what is essential. The number 7 means ‘a whole’. Jesus said to forgive our brothers “seventy times seven”. So with this verse being repeated 7 times in 2 chapters, it appears God is saying, “this is essential, you must understand this”.]
Do you have an ear to hear? Did you know the Spirit speaks to you?
You may say, “No I’ve never heard the Spirit, how do I hear Him?”
To hear the Spirit of God you have to be Walking in the Spirit. You cannot very well be focused all day on other people and things making noise and expect to hear from God. Although, if He wants to, He will get through to you anyway.
You may ask, “what does the Spirit sound like?”
You must know that the Spirit is connected to the mind, not through the body, but directly. We have all heard our ‘self-speak’ in our heads. We have all spoken to ourselves in our head.
Well One Way the Spirit get through to us is similar, but the voice isn’t your doing, it is a voice that is not you. The voice will always direct you to do the things of God…or warn you…or teach you His Word. The more in tune you are with this Spirit, the closer you are to God.
But the reality is, very few people can say they have heard from the Spirit.
I am not able to say why this is for sure, God knows.
Part of it may be due to a lack of teaching on this topic. ‘Christianity’, that is, what people commonly understand as Christianity, perceive it as Fleshly. They do not see the Spirit behind:
  • The music: But in Colossians 3.16 it says to make “spiritual songs”, the word spirit there means ‘from the Holy Spirit’.
  • The Bible: The Bible is “God breathed” says Peter. Jesus said His words are Spirit. So again the Spirit is in direct contact with the believer.
“It is the Spirit who gives lifeThe words  that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”.
                                                                                             John 6
“He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says…”
                                                                                               Revelation 2&3
It is therefore wrong when people learn from people only, and not the Word of God. Usually the Spirit is replaced by human tradition, deceit, and demon spirits. In the 21st Century these is no excuse not to read God’s word directly.
Biblical Christian Lifestyle is Living as a Spirit in a Body. A Spirit who is One with the Spirit of Yahweh. When a person  is Born Again, the Reality of the Spirit is evident. If they haven’t noticed the Spirit it is either because they do not know about the Spirit, have been told He is far off and distant, or they are not truly Christians.
This Life in the Spirit, also called ‘Walking in the Spirit’, This is the pinnacle of life, from top of the mountain to the heaven above, this is Oneness with the Spirit that created all of nature, light, water, the mind of all beings, the stars, and Jesus Himself.
Jesus told us that it was by the Spirit that we would get Truth.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you foreverthe Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
                                                                                        John 14 & 16
And we know that “All scripture is God-breathed”.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God”
                                                              2 Timothy 3
All of this inter-connectedness  MUST BE REALIZED BY EVERY CHILD OF GOD. It is the seeing the Kingdom of God. It is the Goal of God. That we become One with God and Jesus.
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
                                                                                            John 17
It is by the Holy Spirit’s Oneness with us that we cannot practice Sin any longer.
He who is Born of God cannot practice Sin
                                                                              1 John 3
We also know , by the Spirit, who is and isn’t a Christian.  In the first 150 years, anyone who was called a ‘Christian’ would witness often. The idea that some are called to witness and some aren’t is wrong. This false belief is due to the majority of church people who do not have the Spirit of God.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God…Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
                                                                                                      1 John 4
How are we being Changed (transformed)?
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
                                                                                           2 Corinthians 3
What do we have to do to live in Oneness with the Spirit?
1. You ask God for Oneness.
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11
2.You surrender your life.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice” Romans 12
3. Crucify your body. Eternal Life is in the Spirit, when you are Born of the Spirit, you enter a new realm. Your focus must be shifted away from your body, and into Oneness with The Spirit of God.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another…And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5
4.Your attention is centered on the Spirit that you are part of.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
                                                                                           Romans 8
This is what it is to be a Christian. It is not about concepts, but it is a new birth and a life with Oneness with God via His own Spirit.
Do you have an ear to hear?
Have you been Born of the Spirit?
The Spirit is the beginning of Life.

Leahy is a student of Jesus Christ. Born Again, the Holy Spirit pulls him to and fro doing God's work. In 2009 he had a dream that lasted all night. The dream was a voice saying these words repeatedly. "“The Spirit of the LORD is upon You, Because He has anointed You To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent You to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." This is Luke 4.18, HOWEVER, the "me" in the dream was changed to "You" as if God were speaking to Malaach. This has led to a life of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with many, and seeking to end abortion.
