The Christian has no right to remain silent.

And you, child…will goTo give knowledge of salvation to His people
By the remission of their sins…To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death.
                                                    – Zacharias to His Son John the Baptist
                                                                                Luke 1.

It seems like so long ago. I was 12. I would go alone to St. Lambert’s Church at odd times. The building intrigued me. For one, it was open all the time, for two, they had candles I could light for my Dad who passed away when I was 9.

My friends went to Catholic school. I went to public school. My friend’s parents were Catholics, one used to be a nun.

Skokie is/was the home of a great number of Jewish people. I had a Jewish Girlfriend, twice.

What is amazing about Skokie is that you could grow up there and never hear a word about Jesus, unless of course it was using His name in vain. It was very strange. My Jewish girlfriend, Mary Laxmeter, her dad was a rabbi. Yet, I don’t ever recall any of them talking about God.

By age 15 all of us were living like harlots. I was selling marijuana and cocaine. We were all drinking, all very destructive, and all sexually active.

I also had a half-brother 14 years older than me who lived in McComb. He was doing all the Christian things. He married a preacher’s daughter from Springfield Illinois. He went to buildings called churches, studied the Bible a lot with his wife, and they also were praying people. However, he never talked to me about Jesus. Never told me #TheWay, The Way to make a covenant with God, The Way to be Born Again, The Way to enter into Life. He remained silent.

Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. – Jesus

When I brought this up 20+ years later, and asked why he didn’t share the Gospel with me, and hasn’t shared the Gospel with his Jewish mother, he became irate, frustrated, reminded me of how much he does in his local church.

It’s not enough to be active in your church. It is Sin to know The Way and not to share it with those who don’t. It is suspicious that people could stay silent. Either God is real, or He isn’t. If my brother had the cure for cancer, he would tell everyone. But at the same time, he is content with hiding Christ from people.

The Catholic education my friends received told them that because they did a bunch of rituals, that they were saved. They had no relationship with God. If they did, there was no evidence of it. For them communion was like graduating Jr.High. It was a tradition which they did because their parents did it. The Sin of the Catholic church against these people is that they tell people they are saved because of an action they did, but this is a teaching straight from demons. Teachings that substitute something for Christ is the very definition of ‘Anti-Christ’ [Anti = ‘Instead of’].

…every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.                                                                                                          1 John 4

How many others in Skokie knew God?

The amount of sin all of us took part in, the pain it caused us, the multiple deaths that occurred, & the life we endured without God….all of this because the adults who claimed to be Christian kept silent or taught a dead works based religion.

For this reason, those of us who have been Born Again, we must never be quiet. In the face of dead ritualism, we must show them the Word of God and how the life of a Christian is meant to look like. In the face of quiet people who claim to know Jesus, we must tell their kids the Way, because if we don’t, they may never hear the Gospel.

It is not polite to be quiet about our Oneness with God, it is death.

“Father, may we never become silent until we have no breath left. May we never bury our talent, may we never hide out lamp, may we never fear those who wish to silence us, please help us in this. Amen.”

Leahy is a student of Jesus Christ. Born Again, the Holy Spirit pulls him to and fro doing God's work. In 2009 he had a dream that lasted all night. The dream was a voice saying these words repeatedly. "“The Spirit of the LORD is upon You, Because He has anointed You To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent You to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." This is Luke 4.18, HOWEVER, the "me" in the dream was changed to "You" as if God were speaking to Malaach. This has led to a life of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with many, and seeking to end abortion.
